If you were not at the Hall of Fame induction on Saturday, April 21, you missed a wonderful tribute to Henry “Hank” Troh. John Sedey, a friend and student of Hank’s, shared many photos and stories from Hank’s life. We were lucky to have in attendance Hank’s daughter Lorraine and other members of the family, as well as Judy Wagner Black and Annette Buswell Whittington, daughters of two of Hank’s friends (Harold Wagner and Myron Buswell). Lorraine was overheard to mention that it was a reunion of the “airfield kids.”
We also publicly noted the long service of Roger Starr as President of the OAHS. Roger served in that capacity from 1985 until 2011, when he handed over the reins to our current President, Doug Kindred.
Many thanks to Connie Ourada and the catering staff at the Village Green. The food was great (we received a lot of positive comments on the lunch) and the service impeccable.
If you’d like to learn more about Hank and his “biggest little airport in the world,” we have copies of Lorraine’s book available for sale. “Troh’s Air Taxi,” can be yours for just $25, which includes shipping anywhere in the continental US (for other destinations, please email us for more info). Just use the “Donate” button on any of the pages here on the site and in the comments section tell us you want a copy of Lorraine’s book.
Keep an eye out for our March, 2013 newsletter, when we will announce the details of our Hall of Fame ceremony for next year. You won’t want to miss it!
