We are coming up on Annual Meeting time again, and this year we will be meeting at the Village Green for a lovely lunch of chicken with a creamy Boursin garlic sauce, salad, veggies and dessert. On Saturday, April 11, we will we be sharing information on the state of the organization and inducting James Carle “Jimmy” Rinehart into the Oregon Aviation Hall of Fame. Along with his other accomplishments, Mr. Rinehart started the Columbia Gorge Air Service, Inc. (see photo above), was an instructor at Tex Rankin’s school in Portland and was a civilian flight instructor at Ryan Airfield in Hemet, CA during World War II.
We expect to be joined by a dozen or so members of Mr. Rinehart’s family and would love to see as many of our members in attendance as possible. If you are a member you should have received your luncheon RSVP form in the mail (along with your board of directors ballot). If you are a non-member and would like to attend, lunch is $22 per person and you can reserve your seats via PayPal, regular mail, or by emailing DJ at the OAHS (she’ll then give you all the details you need). Visit our Newsletters page to see the latest newsletter with info on Mr. Rinehart. Make sure to provide the names of your attendees so we can have name badges ready for you at the door.
