Thank you to everyone who attended the ceremony inducting Capt. Basil B. Smith into the Oregon Aviation Hall of Fame. We had some technical difficulties (the PowerPoint reader did some odd things to the presentation layout and the microphone started dying toward the end) but overall it was a nice presentation. Thank you to Eva Johnson and Heidi Brandenberg, great-nieces of B. B. Smith, for making the drive from Washington for the event, and thanks to Tim Talen for leading the presentation and sharing your personal insights on Smith and some of the aircraft he designed. We did record the presentation and, depending on how that recording turned out, may be able to post it on our YouTube channel. If so, we’ll put up a link ASAP.
In the meantime, you can view the PowerPoint presentation (free of glitches) by clicking here: Basil B Smith.
