Restoration Friday:

There’s so much that’s been going on down here at the museum!

The crew has definitely been busy on the Springfield Cadet – AKA The Baby Fleet – trying to get it to display status so that we can begin on some of our other projects.

In the last couple of weeks our volunteers have gotten the dacron fabric covering on both the lower wings, as well as the ailerons. Today they were finishing up the heat shrinking of the fabric, as well as applying the first coat of poly brush. The crew was really feeling a sense of accomplishment today as there is very visible evidence of progress with the pink poly brush.

In the next few weeks they will begin on the labor intensive process of rib stitching.
