Come, Take a Journey to Historic Bernard’s Field

Experience the excitement of the dawn of man’s first attempts to soar, free, high above the earth! Hear their stories told by the people who lived it. Feel the comradery and pioneering spirit that compelled Oregons’ adventurers to take to the air in planes they fashioned out of materials at hand.

Take a virtual trip back in time to when daring adventurers journeyed to Bernard’s field, learned from each other and built a craft that enabled them to fly. This is one of the magnificent stories collected and shared by the Oregon Aviation Historical Society. Our mission is “Preserving Oregon’s Aviation Heritage for Future Generations.” We want to share with everyone who seeks to learn about these amazing pioneers and the machines they created. Come join us in this adventure.
